Open state cavity barrier for ventilated cavities

ARC OSCB cavity barriers are designed in cavities that require ventilation. The cavity barrier is made of non-combustible mineral wool with a reactive intumescent layer that can support an air gap of up to 25mm or 44mm.

When exposed to heat in a fire, the intumescent layer rapidly expands, sealing the air gap and inhibiting vertical fire expansion within the exterior wall cavity. Suitable for installation horizontally, ARC OSCB open state cavity barriers should be combined with ARC Fire Stop Slab installed vertically for a comprehensive cavity barrier solution.

  • Reactive intumescent element
  • Either 60min or 120min fire integrity
  • 25mm or 44mm air gap for ventilated cavity
  • Tested for ASFP TGD19 standards
  • Fixing brackets included as standard
  • Suitable for use horizontally

Cavity Stop Socks

A cavity in the external wall functions as a chimney, allowing flames, hot gases, and smoke to travel from one section of a building to another. Stop socks are blocks of fire-resistant materials that seal cavities in the wall to prevent the spread of a fire.

ARC Cavity Stop Sock restricts the spread of smoke and flames within the cavity of external masonry walls. It is ideally suited for providing a cavity barrier within the external wall cavity, in line with a separating wall or floor for closing the cavity at all levels.

  • Up to 4 hours fire reliability
  • Horizontal and vertical selections
  • Specified in terraced, semi-detached, apartments and major projects
  • Maximum cavity width available: 300mm
  • Easily installed with compression fit, no mechanical fix is required

ARC TCB

ARC TCB minimises the influence of noise pollution while limiting the spread of smoke and flames within the timber frame walls. It's suitable for creating a cavity barrier inside the exterior wall cavity, along a dividing wall or floor, and around window and door openings.

  • Up to an hour of fire integrity
  • Horizontal and vertical options
  • Can be used around window and door cavities
  • Specified in terraced, semi-detached, apartments and major projects
  • Maximum cavity width available: 150mm
  • Easily installed

ARC Fire Stop Slab

ARC Fire Stop Slab provides up to two hours of fire resistance horizontally or vertically within exterior masonry walls making it perfect for usage at floor level separation. Made of mineral wool insulation with a class 'O' reinforced aluminium foil on both sides, this product provides outstanding smoke resistance.

Arc Firestop Slab is designed to prevent the passage of fire in all cavity walls as well as between a curtain wall system and a concrete floor slab.

  • Up to an hour of fire integrity
  • Horizontal and vertical options
  • Can be used around window and door cavities
  • Specified in terraced, semi-detached, apartments and major projects
  • Maximum cavity width available: 150mm
  • Easily installed

Buy Ceresit CT 84 polyurethane adhesive

Ceresit CT 84 polyurethane adhesive Ceresit CT 84 polyurethane adhesive is used for fixing expanded polystyrene boards in complex Ceresit Ceretherm systems for insulation of external walls of buildings (ETICS). Ceresit CT 84 is used for fixing foamed polystyrene boards when insulating newly erected buildings as well as those undergoing thermorenovation. After approx. 2 hours since application, foamed polystyrene boards can be sanded, doweled, and then made with a mesh reinforced layer using Ceresit CT 85, CT 87 or ZU mortar. Ceresit CT 84 polyurethane adhesive is also used for fixing materials such as EPS and XPS foam and hard mineral wool to substrates such as: wood, OSB, glass, bitumen, ceramic brick, concrete, coated and galvanized sheet, dry cellular concrete and after exposure to water, gypsum plasterboard and for layered bonding of foamed polystyrene boards and mineral wool under normal and reduced temperatures, also in thermal insulation systems. How to Reduce Noise Using Underlay

Sound can travel through liquids, solids or gases making it one of the biggest nuisances for every home. Underlay can reduce acoustic noises, underlay reduces sound from travelling from one place to another. Underlay also dramatically improves sound and heat insulation, underlay can help cut your energy bills helping reduce costs and provide comfort to your home, it’s the best investment you can make long term for your home.   How Can Underlay Reduce Sound and Loud Noises? There are lots of different materials that can be used for sound reduction, all with their own list of benefits. Some materials that are effective are foam and sponge, used as underlay they can reduce sound waves, you can purchase foam and sponge underlay from us at InsulationBee.co.uk . These materials will protect your flooring above and do a great job at sound reduction.   What is Impact Noise Reduction? Impact noise is sound when two surfaces collide, and it is exactly what unde...
One of the more common complaints about houses with poor build quality is noise transfer, both from outside sources but in particular between the rooms in the house itself. Poor acoustics is something that could, and should, be considered at the design stage of a project. Sound transmission between homes, is a major problem in the UK which requires serious consideration from both architects and builders. Noise nuisance can be a serious cause of stress, and if not remedied it can affect our health and wellbeing as well as influencing everyday life.   What Does Soundproofing Do? To soundproof a home means to lower the intrusion of external noise, while also insulating it so noise cannot escape the space. In many cases acoustic insulation is used to prevent any noise from outside interfering with the residents within. This could be anything from voices, nearby building works or high lev...
